Other possible symptoms of trichomoniasis (or trich) include a red, irritated, or itchy vulva or vagina and discomfort while urinating or during intercourse. This may be a sign of trichomoniasis, a common sexually transmitted infection. Your discharge is yellow or green and frothy with an unpleasant odor. This might be a condition called bacterial vaginosis. You have thin white or gray discharge with a strong fishy smell which may be more noticeable after sex (when the discharge mixes with semen). This means you could have a yeast infection. Your vulva looks inflamed, or you have an odorless, whitish discharge that's causing pain with urination or intercourse, soreness, itching, or burning. For example, if you're continuously leaking clear and watery fluid, these can be signs that your water has broken or you're in preterm labor. You're not yet 37 weeks along and notice an increase in the amount of discharge or a change in the type of discharge. Also, call your doctor or midwife right away if: When is vaginal discharge in pregnancy a warning sign of a problem?ĭischarge that's green, smells unpleasant, causes pain or itching, or seems unusual in any other way could be a sign of infection or another problem. You'll probably also notice more vaginal discharge as you approach labor, although it's likely to look somewhat different from the flow you've become accustomed to. This discharge is made up of secretions from the cervix and vagina, old cells, and normal vaginal bacteria. (It's called leukorrhea.) There's just a lot more of it during pregnancy because your body is producing more estrogen, which signals the vagina to produce more discharge. It's perfectly normal to have a mild-smelling milky white discharge even before pregnancy.

I just assumed I would carry full term due to previous pregnancy history.

Within 3 hours I was admitted given steroids and antibiotics, scanned revealed a leak that had been caught early and I was admitted immediately in hospital bed rest for the forseeable weeks but I'm at the best place for my baby. Called the doctor and he said the same thing.ģ days later I noticed this 'urine' that had no smell or colour just watery looking, had been so constant, and my bump looked smaller so I decided to call the labour ward who asked me to come in, after a physical examination it turns out i had been leaking amniotic fluid all along. I read some forums spoke to my mid wife as she said it's the baby pushing on ur bladder, and not to worry,so I started wearing liners. Started well then a massive bleed at 9 weeks which was pretty scary.fast forward 17 weeks later I started noticing increased discharge that just kept coming. I'm expecting a boy this time which is exciting but this pregnancy has been troublesome so far. This is my second pregnancy after having my daughter 5 years ago which looking back was very straight forward.

I'm currently sat in the labour ward in hospital and I feel compelled to share my story incase it helps anyone.
